Westmoor Music 09-10

Springtime in the music room
It may still be dark and chilly outside, but we are staying warm with lots of great activities in music class! The first graders are studying instruments and Mozart though song, art, and movement, the second graders are traveling to China, the third graders are now Latin music experts creating electronic versions of what they’ve sung, danced, and played, the fourth grade is learning Irish and American folk music, and the fifth graders are undergoing transformations to become real live pirates with their own stories to tell. Please mark your calendars now to check out our spring musical “Pirates!” It’s happening March 24 and 25 at 7:00 pm, and it promises to be one of the best productions we’ve every done!
In lieu of a newsletter, please check out the grade-level tabs above to see, hear, and read about what we’re up to throughout the year. You may notice links to “self-assessments” on the webpages. Feel free to click the link and see how the students are assessing themselves on their projects this fall. It’s part of my personal goal to update the assessment process and make it truly personal and relevant feedback for all students.
Thanks for stopping by!

I forget,
show me,
I remember, involve me,
I understand.”
